What Does a Production Welder Do?
A Production Welder is an exciting and hands-on job in the Manufacturing industry, specifically within the Welding sector. Your main role will be to join metal parts together by heating the surfaces to the point of melting using various welding tools and techniques. You will be working with blueprints, patterns, and other instructions for guidance to meet job specifications.
This job is typically performed in a workshop, manufacturing plant, or construction site. For safety reasons, you will often wear protective gear, such as masks and gloves, to prevent potential injury from heat, sparks or intense light.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities would include setting up welding machinery, repairing broken or damaged metal objects, and maintaining equipment. You might also ensure workpieces are properly cooled and conduct inspections of finished products for quality control. A key part of your job is to collaborate with other team members and follow safety protocols at all times.
If you enjoy working with your hands, have a keen eye for detail and aren't afraid of a little heat, then a career as a Production Welder could be a great fit for you!
